SPIRITUAL AUTHORITY Over All Darkness and Disease Written by Emmett Anderson Spiritual Authority Over All Darkness and Disease By Emmett Anderson Write to: Visit Online At: Emmett Anderson Ministries www.eandersonmin.org P.O. Box 26 Crystal River, FL 34423 or E-Mail At: eandersonmin@hotmail.com PREFACE This book is written to get your attention on mankind’s authority here on Earth. I learn more about authority every year. I have never been in a church that taught on mankind’s authority in-depth. I have heard a few churches mention (a scripture or two maybe. I’ve heard Genesis 1:26&28 from the pulpit a time or two, but not much beyond these small examples. There is so much to learn and the more you learn the easier and better your life gets. That is what put the fire in my heart to really expand on the nature of our authority. Take what you learn from the scriptures and let the Holy Spirit guide you into more truth. Blessings. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. AMP Then God said, “Let Us (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) make man in Our image, according to Our likeness [not physical, but a spiritual personality and moral likeness]; and let them have complete authority over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the cattle, and over the entire earth, and over everything that creeps and crawls on the earth.” And God blessed them [granting them certain authority] and said to them, “Be fruitful, multiply, and fill the earth, and subjugate it [putting it under your power]; and rule over (dominate) the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, and every living thing that moves upon the earth.” The meaning of the word “dominion” is very important. According to Merriam-Webster, the word “dominion” means: Dominion noun (do·min·ion): o supreme authority; sovereignty - having dominion over the natural world o Absolute Ownership Here, in this book, we’re going to look at some answers to some questions pertaining to authority and dominion: • What authority do we have and where did it come from? • Do we have authority that we do not know about? • Do we have authority that we are not using? • Could Authority and the Word of God be preventive medicine or a defense? • Do we have authority over the world? The devil? Sickness and disease? Other people? First, let’s cover who has authority and where. When God made man, according to the book of Genesis, God made him perfect and whole, and with dominion over the Earth; man was good and he was not sick. When man “fell” or disobeyed God, he gave Satan authority on the Earth (the world system) that God had originally given to man. Adam forfeited the authority God had given to him. When man fell and gave up his authority to Satan, man gained “sense” knowledge (thinking naturally, as opposed to spiritually) and lost spiritual living. With sense knowledge came fear, all calamity, condemnation, guilt, unworthiness, etc… Mankind would have lived forever with only spiritual knowledge, but when man fell and gained sense knowledge, the effect it had on mankind was to live under sense knowledge and death. Mankind now dies very quickly because of this sense knowledge and its effect on mankind. Mankind used to know only what God said and lived by spiritual knowledge. Over the years, mankind has changed its focus to “sense” knowledge and has suffered. II Corinthians 4:4 (KJV) Luke 4:5-7 (KJV) In whom the god [Satan] of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it. If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine. In Luke 4:5-7 Did Jesus dispute the devil? Rebuke his claim? Call him a liar? No, because Satan gained authority through Adam’s disobedience. Man lost his authority on Earth to Satan. So in the world system, or natural system, Satan has authority or power. Satan brings anything that will steal, kill, or destroy to mankind in the natural system. John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. Now, this might seem like something to be concerned about, but it’s not. Keep in mind: we have been talking about the natural realm. We have been talking about the “world system.” The good news is, we, as children of God and born-again believers have been given our spiritual authority back through Jesus, and it (spiritual authority) triumphs over the natural. Hebrews 10:14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified. Man’s body (natural) gets sick. However, his spirit is perfect in Christ Jesus and cannot get sick. The biggest need of the church is to renew their minds to the Word of God so they can use spiritual authority and walk in wellness, health, and wealth on Earth in their natural body. --- Spirit > Soul > Body --- You, as a perfect and Godly spirit being, must force your soul (mind, will, and emotions) to be renewed to the Word of God to manifest the spiritual reality of wholeness and perfection to your body (flesh). In Galatians we see the contrast of the spirit and the senses. The fruits of the senses (flesh) are found below: Galatians 5:16-21 “This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.” The fruits of the recreated spirit (born-again believer) are recorded in: Galatians 5:22-23 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.” The senses have always been a traitor to the spirit. They are ever-seeking their own. They are hungry, and they are never satisfied; they are always seeking and never finding that for which they seek. That is the flesh; that is the natural man. Galatians is not talking about your self-effort or works, but about renewing your mind to think on spiritual things. When your thinking is on spiritual things, you will walk in the spirit. IF SATAN CAN KEEP YOU IN THE NATURAL REALM (NATURAL MINDSET) HE WINS. Thankfully, if you keep him in the spiritual realm, he loses. Every time. Spiritual authority is given to us by God to overcome the natural world. Satan has no “in” road into your life when you resist. You are a new creature in Christ Jesus. You are the righteousness of God. Satan is trying to get you to believe that you are unholy and condemned by your action of fleshly wrongdoing, but by faith and grace, you resist and believe The Word, Jesus. II Corinthians 5:21(AMP) “He made Christ who knew no sin to [judicially] be sin on our behalf, so that in Him we would become the righteousness of God [that is, we would be made acceptable to Him and placed in a right relationship with Him by His gracious lovingkindness].” Romans 8:1 (AMP) Therefore there is now no condemnation [no guilty verdict, no punishment] for those who are in Christ Jesus [who believe in Him as personal Lord and Savior]. (KJV) There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Romans 4:8 (AMP) “Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.” You are not going to be judged for your wrong doing because you are in Christ Jesus and have become the righteousness of God. You are not the sick trying to get well, you are the well which the devil is trying to get sick. This is the attitude and mindset of a victorious person that knows their authority. Romans 4:8 says you are blessed and God will not impute sin. Ephesians 1:3 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:” This means every spiritual blessing belongs to us. Authority belongs to us – even if we don’t know (or use) it. Knowing and believing that authority belongs to us is not enough; you must speak by faith from your heart (spirit) and act using your authority to bring results. This will take place by the renewing of our minds. How does that come? By meditation, practicing, and saying The Word over and over until you believe in your spirit. Say, “I have authority.” Study authority. A great way to start with authority is in the example of Jesus using His authority. I would like to talk about roots. More specifically, I would like to talk about what Jesus said concerning roots. Jesus spoke with authority in His walk with mankind here on Earth. Then Jesus left and gave that ability to mankind. Mark 11:13-14 “And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet. And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it.” Mark 11:19-23 “And when even was come, he went out of the city. And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots. And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away. And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.” In Mark 11:13-14&19-23 Jesus cursed the tree, speaking with confidence and authority, and it dried up at the roots. Even trees hear what you say when you speak with authority to the problem and believe by faith in your heart. Matthew 15:13 “But he answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up.” In Matthew 15:13 Jesus said if God did not plant a plant, it would be rooted up. You must be careful what you plant in your heart with your mouth. You can cause anything to die at its roots if you speak and believe in your heart that it will die at the roots - in Jesus’ name. Matthew 15:22-28 “And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil. But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us. But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me. But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs. And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table. Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.” Notice how, in Verse 22-28, the woman thought and spoke truth from her heart with determination and faith. Jesus said “great is your faith” and her daughter was healed. Tumors have roots on them. Curse them. Curse the roots. Command the roots to die, and tumors will dry up in Jesus’ name. CHAPTER 2: WHAT IS YOUR SPIRITUAL AUTHORITY? To understand spiritual authority, it helps to look into natural authority first, because you already understand it. For this reason, many analogies will be made to compare spiritual and natural authority. If you are born on this earth, then you have authority. Most people have used this authority in the natural. Mankind has always known it has authority and has used this authority over fish, fowl, cattle, and all beasts or animals of the earth. That’s where mankind forgets the extent of its authority. Most people have no problem believing in man’s dominion over the animals because they have used their authority in the natural and seen it work. Natural authority is easy to understand with our minds, because most of us are so caught up in the flesh. Spiritual authority is less recognizable, but well documented in God’s Word. While knowledge of natural dominion is good, spiritual authority (which has been neglected) is even more important. As a believer you have authority over the devil and all darkness even though you cannot see it. The authority given to mankind by God is a given “power” or “right to command,” over all darkness, devils, disease, evil spirits, and everything else that God’s Word says we have authority over. Anything that God’s Word says is true. It says Jesus took sin, poverty, and disease with Him on the cross, which gives you the authority to send it away and you believe spiritual authority by faith – not by head knowledge. It may seem that man’s authority is limitless, but this is not true. Man does not have authority over other people. We do not have a God-given authority to tell people what to do. You have influence and some authority in your household and loved ones, but you do not have authority over my household or my loved ones. The believer has all authority over demon’s spirits, disease, and lack but not over human wills. It is important to realize that spiritual authority is much like natural authority. For example, you don’t have authority over my money, my children, or the authority to tell me what to do. However, if I give you permission, you can help me. Just like when you go to work for someone, you give them some authority over you. Likewise, if you allow someone to speak over you with God’s Word, they can speak, in authority, with you. The Seventy Luke 10:17-20 “And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name. And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. Behold, I give unto you power [authority] to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.” Notice that initially only twelve disciples learned about their authority, and now seventy have learned about their authority. In verse 19, the word power means authority. Here, Jesus gave His followers power. Verse 20 says “the spirits” (that’s plural with an “S” on it) are subject unto you. This is a small deal in Jesus’ mind. However, many Christians find it so hard to believe. When you learn who you are and what power you have, no devil or evil spirit can hurt you because Jesus has given you authority over them – use it! You Must Use It Believers have authority on Earth over darkness, sickness, disease, and poverty. God does not use His authority on Earth because He gave it to believers to use. Just like in the natural: if you told someone to manage your finances, and they kept asking you to manage your finances. What kind of sense would that make? God gave you the authority; don’t keep asking Him to do your job of resisting the devil and renewing your mind. What happens if you don’t use your authority? Well, if you own a business and have a dozen employees, and you never tell them what to do or how you want things done, you will eventually have a mess and go out of business. It is the same in the spirit realm. If you just accept what the devil is doing to you, and you never speak with authority, your life will be a mess and you will be sick and broke. You have authority in your business and spiritual life, but you must learn how to use it and do it. In the natural, you have rules and expect your employees to follow them or you fire them. In the spirit, you must learn the rules (like authority) and use it. Renew your mind, and you will live well, healthy, and wealthy, with all your needs met. John 6:63 “It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.” The spirit is the only thing that makes substantial change. The Word of God is pure and life-giving spiritual food. When you are born-again you are a life-speaking spirit. The Epistles, Paul’s letters to the church, are spiritual food for you to live well, healthy, and wealthy. Just like food in the natural, spiritual food must be consumed (taken or eaten). Eat your spiritual food by studying the epistles and Gospels, and learn your spiritual authority. Also, just like in the natural, if you eat unhealthy food: your body will suffer. In the spiritual realm, if you do not study Paul’s letters, you will not use or know your authority and the devil will run you over. You won’t know how to stop him. Reading the Old Testament without understanding the New Testament is like eating food that has not been cooked and it can hurt you. John 6:63 says that the words [Word of God] are spirit and life. It did not say your works or self-effort is spirit and life. Speaking The Word is your part to live in the spirit well, healthy, and wealthy. Matthew 12:36-37 “But I say unto you, that every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.” Idle Words are words that are spoken in fear, doubt, unbelief, etc… Just ask Jesus to forgive you for any idle words you have spoken, then speak what The Word says about you, believing in faith. Your confession speaking in faith will justify or bless you, and you will see a change in your thinking and life. If you want this change, then start confessing The Word by faith. Confession Thank you Jesus for eternal life. I rejoice in my salvation. I thank you for the Word of God that is a living Word that brings life to my natural body as I speak and believe. You are a good God and your mercy endures forever and ever. I am led by the spirit. I live the life of love and speak with power and authority from above. I am well, healthy, and wealthy in Jesus’ name. CHAPTER 3: RESISTING THE DEVIL WITH AUTHORITY James 4:7 KJV NLT “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” “So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” Resist the devil (use your authority) and he will flee from you. The subject of this sentence is “you.” As mentioned before, the believer has authority over the devil. James 4:7 wouldn’t tell the believer to resist or do something about the devil if we couldn’t. The Word of God does not say that the devil will flee from Jesus, it says he will flee from you! Speak in Jesus’ name. Our ministers, on a whole, have not taught the people that they have this authority over all darkness. Many Christians have been taught to pray, but they have not yet been taught to use their God-given authority. Here’s a question to the reader, and I want you to think about it: Why did God tell us two times, in the very first chapter of Genesis, that we have authority, never mentioning prayer. One might suppose that God is telling mankind how very important it is to use authority. Like the example earlier of managing finances in the previous chapter, if someone has the power to do something, how does it make sense for them to ask someone else to do it instead? Is he a lion or kitten (to you)? I Peter 5:7-8 “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour” • The word “sober” means “to have control over yourself, showing mental and emotional balance.” • The word “vigilant” means “staying watchful and alert to danger or trouble.” • The word “adversary” means “anyone that opposes or fights against another. Enemy.” The devil is seeking to find those whom he can devour. Who is it that he can devour? A lion roars to show authority. If you let your emotions control you and believe it, then you are a crippled gazelle and a great candidate for the devil to cause great harm. If you believe the devil is causing you great harm, if you believe he is trying to stop you from God’s work, then you are giving the devil the idea that what he’s doing is working. He is your enemy. All the devil can do is walk about roaring. He cannot devour a born-again Christian. He has no authority over you. In fact, you must remember that you have authority over him. The stipulation is that you must know it and use it. Just rebuke him and believe by faith. Peter tells us the devil is a roaring lion, and James tells us that if we just resist the devil, he will flee like a scared cat. Romans 6:14 “For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.” Believers have the ability to Lord it over darkness, but religion has blinded believers to the truth. Darkness is running rampant in the Church, and it lords itself over most Christians because they aren’t aware of their authority, righteousness, and grace. Luke 22:25 “And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors.” Exercising your authority over all darkness, disease, and devils makes you a benefactor – you receive the benefit. When you exercise your authority, you are telling all devils, evil spirits, and disease that you know you are lord over them and they have got to obey you, in Jesus name. The Word tells us that Jesus conquered the devil in Revelations and Colossians: Revelations 1:18 “I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.” Colossians 2:12-15 “Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.” Jesus defeated the devil and has the keys of hell and death. Jesus took the keys away from the devil, Glory to God! Thank you Jesus! Our job is to enforce Jesus’ victory over the devil and not let him run over us. Jesus’ victory belongs to us but we must carry it out to walk in His victory. The keys Jesus took are keys of authority which Jesus has given the born-again believer. We have laws in America, but people break the law. Because people break the law, we have to have police to enforce the law. The police didn’t write the law, the people gave the law and hired the police to enforce the law, thus giving the police that authority. Jesus defeated the devil and gave man authority over the devil and the Earth/natural realm, but Satan breaks the law in the natural and man must enforce spiritual authority over Satan or man will be effected by this law-breaker, Satan. Christians are lord over Satan. Be an enforcer in your life and live well, healthy, and wealthy in peace and joy. On the next couple pages, Proverbs 4:20-23 is going to be examined with multiple translations. I really like to break this one down for people to help them understand where The Word needs to be. Proverbs 4:20-23 (Various Translations) “[20] My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. [21] Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. [22] For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. [23] Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.” Verse 21: Messages: Keep my message in plain view at all times. Concentrate! Learn it by heart(mind, will, and emotions)! Living Bible: …let them penetrate deep within your heart (mind, will, and emotions) Verse 22: Messages: Those who discover these words live, really live; body and soul, they’re bursting with health. God’s Word: They are life to those who find them and they heal the whole body KNOX: …let a man master them, they will bring life and healing to his whole being FENTON: … My Words… health to all parts of the frame Verse 23: Easy to Read: The most important thing is for you to be careful in the things you think. Your thoughts control your life. Clear Word: … guard the affections of your heart; the emotional attachments you make determine the course of your life. Good News: Be careful how you think, your life is shaped by your thoughts Messages: … your heart (spirit); that’s where life starts – God’s Word: … your heart (spirit)… the source of your life flows from it Study these scriptures carefully. The word “heart” can mean a few things in English and in The Word. It can mean your spirit-self, or it could mean your mind, will, and emotions. Of course, heart sometimes means the muscle in your chest. Look at how many times it says “heart.” Not your head. This is why it is so important to renew your mind – so that you will think on spiritual things such as The Word, Jesus, not on your head knowledge. We must train/feed our brain spiritually to receive spiritual food. When you look at these passages, you can see that if you let The Word penetrate your heart (mind, will, and emotions) it will manifest and make you live, really live, in health. It’s important to keep your spirit-self first by renewing your mind. Your spirit self (heart) is where all life flows from. CHAPTER 4: USING SPIRITUAL AUTHORITY IN FAITH Matthew 8:5-10 5 And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him, 6 And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented. A Roman’s (non-believer) servant is sick 7 And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him. 8 The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed. the centurion said speak the word and my servant will be healed. Even a non-believer had faith that Jesus could just speak in authority and it would happen 9 For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it. The centurion is saying, I know how authority works. I have authority and I am under authority. 10 When Jesus heard it, he marveled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel. Jesus says here that those that followed (believers) didn’t have as much faith as this non-believer. Simply because he understood authority. Jesus just insulted the Jews here because the centurion is a soldier and a gentile. Jesus has now said that this gentile is releasing greater faith than all those in Israel. Releasing Faith Using your God-given authority releases the greatest faith you can release with your mouth. Jesus is using authority, in faith, and stops storms. Matthew 8:25-27 Mark 4:38-40 Luke 8:24-25 And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish. And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm. But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him! And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith? And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm. And he said unto them, Where is your faith? And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him. If you study this enough, you’ll understand that this was not a normal storm – but possibly something close to a hurricane. As Christians, you will find more people believe what the news says than The Bible. When the news says the hurricane is coming we, as Christians, should believe and command the hurricane to stay in the ocean. However, we have more people believing and saying, “The hurricane is coming – get ready!” We need more believers to realize and believe that they have authority over Earthly things. Titus 2:11-15 “For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.” Authority is in your spirit spoken by faith, not by your head knowledge. Study on authority, meditate on authority, speak what the word says about authority, and confess the scriptures over your life in authority. Speak, exhort, and rebuke with all authority in all areas that God has given you authority. Release your faith. Matthew 10:1 And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease. Luke 9:1 Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases. Those who follow Jesus are given power/authority against all devils, unclean spirits, sickness, and to cure all manner of disease. Matthew 9:8 But when the multitudes saw it, they marvelled, and glorified God, which had given such power unto men. God gave man authority. When man uses their authority it glorifies God. If you go by your feelings or what you see in the natural, then your faith will probably not be able to work to its full ability. Study the Word in the epistles and use your authority by what you believe. The Word must be real in your spirit, and your mind must be renewed with the word. Speaking in Faith Philemon 1:6 “That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.” When you study and speak this word over your life, you release faith, and you will come to a place of peace and rest. Keep acknowledging every good thing this word says about you in the epistles and renew your mind to the perfect faith of God which is given to you. The word effectual could mean desired effect or consistent. Consistent means firm, solid, in agreement. Communication could mean sending and receiving. What are you, the reader, consistent in and agreeing in with your communication? Is it: • Health or sickness? • Life or death? • Prosperity or poverty? • Joy or depression? • A good future or a bad one? • Peace or chaos? • Love or hate? It might seem as though you would not be able to cause these things to be in your life, but by the end of this book – you should have a new understanding. Romans 4:17 (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were. Use your faith and authority to confess things in your life. You can cause good and bad by your thinking, speaking, believing, faith, and authority. All these things need to be brought into alignment with God’s Word. Confession I confess, on the authority of the Word of God, health into my body. I call abundance into my finances, and I call goodness and mercy into every area of my life. Speaking things that aren’t as though they were Jesus established end results. John 11:3-4 “Therefore his sisters sent unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick. When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby.” Jesus said this sickness is not unto death. Jesus is calling those things which be not as though they were. He is releasing His faith through speaking in authority John 11:11-13 “These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep. Then said his disciples, Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well. Howbeit Jesus spake of his death: but they thought that he had spoken of taking of rest in sleep.” – Jesus said Lazarus sleepeth. Jesus was calling the thing that was not. This confused even His followers. Even today, followers of Christ need to remember that they should call things that aren’t as though they were. Psalms 119:89 “For ever, O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven.” God’s Word is already established in Heaven, but on Earth is where it needs to be established yet. That is the “work” for God’s people. To establish His word here in their life. Matthew 16:19 “And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” Jesus said the power of binding and loosing is on Earth. Believers have authority to bind on Earth those things which have been bound in heaven. Jesus loosed Lazarus from death. Jesus spoke to things and they obeyed. Believers have authority on Earth to bind and loosen, given to them by Jesus. It is all an exercise of faith. God has bound disease, sickness, sin, and lack out of heaven. Believers have the right to bind them out of their lives. You do not have authority to bind death out of your life – but you can believe by faith to live a long and healthy life. Now renew your mind to God’s Word. Setting up a defense Mark 11:23 “For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.” Mark 11:23 is an authority scripture I use a lot. If you notice it says one time not to doubt and one time to believe in your heart. It says “say” or “saith” four times in this scripture, and it says “shall” 5 times. The word “mountain” here means any problem, sickness, or situation. The word “doubt” will keep you from receiving. The word “heart” (in this case) is your mind, will, and emotions. Head knowledge is natural knowledge. A “heart” renewed to Word has spiritual knowledge and will receive. The Word “say” or “saith” means just what it says. Keep “saying” and you will believe, no longer doubting. The word “shall” means to express with determination. In other words, this verse is saying when you do not doubt, but believe instead, and you are confident in what you are saying, expressing with determination, you will receive. Luke 4:38-39 “And he arose out of the synagogue, and entered into Simon's house. And Simon's wife's mother was taken with a great fever; and they besought him for her. And he stood over her, and rebuked the fever; and it left her: and immediately she arose and ministered unto them.” Verse 38 – Simon’s mother had a great fever which meant she was what doctor’s would say was “terminally ill.” Verse 39 – Jesus, who had been born of a woman on Earth and thus had the same Earthly legal authority as you and I, used His authority and rebuked the fever. Jesus spoke with authority at fever, “I rebuke you.” He did not pray. Then, the word of God says, it left her. That means it heard what Jesus said with authority and obeyed Him. Does this mean disease and sickness hears what we have to say? What if we say we have the sickness, does that mean we are speaking with authority to give it the right to stay with us in our bodies? What if we continued saying we have the sickness? Are we giving the sickness strength and the right to take root? Whether we are aware of it or not, we have authority when we speak even if we are speaking in the natural. What if, instead, we say, “Get out of my body in Jesus’ name!” Are we putting up a wall of defense against sickness that is trying to claim our body? What do you believe? Mark 13:34 (KJV) “For the Son of Man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch.” The Son of Man is Jesus, and he is saying I am going away and I give you, the servants (God’s people) authority. In the natural, when you leave your home to go on vacation and leave someone at your house to take care of it, you give them the authority and the right (as well as instructions) to make decisions on what needs to be done to keep things in order. Jesus is not coming down to Earth to do your job (keeping the Earth in order). Jesus gave mankind His authority to keep the Earth. He left us The Holy Spirit to help us and guide us. Jesus is saying I give you authority to work the works of God on the Earth and in your life. Jesus is commanding you to watch and pay attention. The word “watch” here means to expect. Believe/expect your authority to work by faith and expect/believe Jesus is coming. John 14:12 (KJV) “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.” The Word “works” here could mean results. We have authority to get greater results than Jesus, but we must believe and use authority against what your natural mind cannot see, feel, hear, taste, or smell. Doctors Do you believe in doctors and never go to the Word? Do you just accept the word of the doctor? Do you instead go to the Word first and listen to your spirit? Sometimes instead of a supernatural healing, you will be given supernatural wisdom. Some things are caused by your way of living, and you may need to fix an issue there before any supernatural healing takes place. It’s so hard to believe against what doctors tell us because we live in the flesh so much. Natural doctors speak about natural problems to our natural minds. If, however, you constantly renew your mind to spiritual knowledge, it will be easier to believe in supernatural results because you will know that these things have spiritual roots. It can be like a preventative medicine. Believe God, use your authority. Listen to your spirit. If you believe in your spirit to use a doctor, then by all means - go. When you use a doctor, you are not the one that needs to be prayed for. You need to pray for the doctor. He is the one making decisions and analyzing your body. Pray the Ephesians prayer (in the back of the book) over the doctor. This prayer is for wisdom, knowledge, etc.. Study in the epistles and you will find more scriptures on your authority. CHAPTER 5: SCRIPTURES DEFINING YOUR AUTHORITY AGAINST DARKNESS, EVIL SPIRITS, DEVILS. Luke 10:17-20 “And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name. And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.” Mathew 10:7-8 “And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.” Mark 16:15-20 “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. And they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.” Luke 9:1 “Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases.” James 4:6-7 “But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” I Peter 5:7-8 “Casting all your care upon him; for He careth for you. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:” DISEASE Matthew 10:1 “And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.” Luke 9:1 “Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases.” Mark 16:18 “They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.” John 14:12 “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.” POVERTY II Corinthians 8:9 “For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.” II Corinthians 9:6 “But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.” This does not only mean finances. You can sow into good health. How? By studying the epistles and receiving spiritual wisdom, knowledge, and understanding bountifully.” Mark 4:14-20 “The sower soweth the word. And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts. And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness; And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, immediately they are offended. And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word, And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful. And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred.” Sow the seed (The Word) by believing, speaking, and acting on what the Word says. This is how you sow into health, wealth, and wellness. Thank you Jesus that by your stripes I am healed. You gave me authority over all disease and I exercise that authority and I command disease to leave my body in Jesus name. I am healed. I will keep sowing, fertilizing, and watering my seed. CHAPTER 6: AUTHORITY IN HEALTH If you study about Jesus’ ministry in the gospels you will learn that Jesus never prayed over anyone to be healed. Jesus always ministered to the people and told them do something by faith or told them they believed by faith and were made whole. Jesus also rebuked and used authority over spirits and sickness and darkness. Jesus’s walk on Earth was an example for believers to walk in freedom from all evil, disease, poverty, crisis, and to be lord over darkness. Where did disease and sickness come from and how do we stop it or defeat it? If you remember, back in the introduction, we talked about the fall of man. Disease and sickness come from sin, disobedience, darkness, or lack of spiritual knowledge originating from “the fall.” Satan uses his power in the natural to attack us in the natural. Remember, he is the god of this world according to II Corinthians 4:4. More importantly, remember that we have spiritual authority which triumphs over natural authority. If you don’t have spiritual knowledge you can’t use it – but even if you have it and don’t use it, it’s not doing you any good. You must have spiritual knowledge (from renewing your mind), and speak with authority in faith to triumph over things which try to come against you. Agree with me and we will speak with authority to infirmities, diseases, sicknesses, and evil spirits out loud and with authority. They will obey. Speak out loud: Systems of any kind, including but not limited to disease, sickness, darkness, spirits of sickness, cancer, tumors, blood disorder, heart problems, sugar, high blood pressure, depression, oppression, shingles, germs, viruses, asthma, liver problems, hormones/thyroid disorders, and anything else that is of darkness: I am talking to you. I speak to you now in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, your master. I command you to leave. I crush you from the roots. I sever your life supply from this moment and cause you to wither and dry up. You die, die, die to this body of the most high God Jesus. I decree you dead in Jesus’ name! Now thank Jesus and get happy! You are free from the bondage of the enemy. Believe it, it is that easy. John 10:10 “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” Your responsibility is to keep believing. If you keep speaking The Word over your life, you will become strong and you will believe what you keep saying. Jesus came to set mankind free and live more abundantly! Jesus paid the price for our salvation and healing 2000 years ago. We were all saved and healed 2000 years ago. All we have to do is receive. We receive healing by believing and speaking, with authority, what the Word of God says. Salvation is received by hearing, believing, and speaking (by faith) that Jesus shed his blood, died, and rose from the grave so you could live eternal forever. Romans 10:10 “For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Hosea 4:6 “My people are destroyed [remember John 10:10 “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy…”] for a lack of knowledge.” Destroy is in both Hosea 4:6 and John 10:10. It is natural knowledge and lack of spiritual knowledge that keeps us in bondage to the natural. We are free when we obtain and use spiritual knowledge. II Timothy 2:15 “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” God loves us so much that He has made “natural” things available to us (like doctors, hospitals, and medicines) to help us. It’s not that natural remedies never work, the issue is that you only get natural results. Sometimes they fail, sometimes they work against you, and sometimes there are side-effects. Mankind has tried to stay in health with natural ingredients but we have failed. Doctors will tell people there is nothing else that can be done. The truth is: there is something that can be done, just the doctors aren’t aware. Doctors have limited knowledge because their knowledge is only in the natural and most lack spiritual understanding. Thusly, doctors cannot understand how people can get well after being ministered to and receive supernatural results. APPENDIX A: TIPS AND ADVICE Below you will see common areas where people allow themselves to get tangled up in a mess. Each of these contains a red flag that should be going off in your mind, remember them. 1: When you make a natural response to a natural problem you get natural results. HOWEVER, if you make a spiritual response to a natural problem, you get supernatural results. 2: If you cannot get your faith to move your mouth, how can you get your faith to move your mountain/problem? 3: Pay attention – do not put your problems in your mouth. Put God’s promises in your mouth. 4: Say: “I am not moved by what I see and I am not moved by what I feel. I am moved by what I believe. Thank you Daddy for teaching me how to maintain what you have obtained for me.” If you ever want to be able to gauge when you are in faith, all you have to do is consider love, peace, and joy. If you are low in any of those areas, I suggest you start confessing God’s Word over yourself and speak with authority. The natural body is still under “the fall” of mankind which is suffering and death. The key to overcoming this setback is focusing on how we believe, how we speak, and our attitude towards receiving God’s promises – not the fall of mankind. Not using a sin-conscious mind, but mind renewed to righteousness. If you are born-again you are righteous (in right-standing with God). APPENDIX B: PRAYER OF SALVATION Say with me, “Jesus I accept you as my lord and savior. Thank you for forgiving and healing me. I believe and receive .” When you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you are born-again and your spirit is perfected. John 3:6-7 (AMP) That which is born of the flesh is flesh [the physical is merely physical], and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Do not be surprised that I have told you, ‘You must be born again [reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, sanctified].’ John 3:16 (AMP) For God so [greatly] loved and dearly prized the world, that He [even] gave His [One and] [a]only begotten Son, so that whoever believes and trusts in Him [as Savior] shall not perish, but have eternal life. Hebrews 10:14 (AMP) For by the one offering He has perfected forever and completely cleansed those who are being sanctified [bringing each believer to spiritual completion and maturity]. I Corinthians 6:17 (KJV) But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit Romans 8:11 (AMP) But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. But your flesh is still under the fall and subject to the natural system. Your flesh (body) does not change. Your mind is a meeting place where you make decisions. You can make decisions in the spirit realm or the natural realm. If you do not renew your mind with The Word of God in the New Testament, how can you make a spiritual decision in authority to triumph over the natural? God cannot renew your mind. He has left that to you because you have a free-will to choose what and how you want to live on this Earth. A renewed mind to the Word and making spiritual decisions will allow you to live on this Earth well, healthy, and wealthy while in right-standing with God. John 16:24 (AMP) Until now you have not asked [the Father] for anything in My name; but now ask and keep on asking and you will receive, so that your joy may be full and complete. Phil 2:9 (KJV) Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: Jesus’ name is above every name. Speak with authority in his name, Jesus, and be victorious. APPENDIX C PRAYER AGAINST DISEASE Father, you appointed Jesus to take on all diseases (sickness, infirmity, etc.) to bear on His body and it is inappropriate for me to bear it. So in the Name of Jesus I command any affliction that has attacked (or tried to attack) me to leave my body and I command Satan to take it with him. I have no use for it and I refuse to have it. I believe that I have been appointed to receive total and complete health in the name of Jesus. APPENDIX D THE EPHESIANS’ PRAYER In the blanks below, fill in the name of whoever you are praying for. If you are using a doctor, put your doctor’s name in there and read it out loud. Ephesians 1:16-19 Cease not to give thanks for _______________, making mention of him/her in my prayers; that the God of _______________'s lord, Jesus Christ, the Father of Glory, may give unto him/her the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him: the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of God's calling, what are the riches of the glory of God's inheritance in the saints and what is the exceeding greatness of God's power toward _______________ because he/she "believes" according to the working of God's mighty power. Ephesians 3:14-21 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of my lord, Jesus Christ, of whom the whole family in heaven and Earth is named. That God would grant to _______________, according to the riches in His glory, to be strengthened with might by God's spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in _______________'s soulish realm by faith; that _______________, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, length, depth, and height; and to know the love of Christ which passeth knowledge that _______________ might be filled with all the fullness of God. Now unto Him that is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that _______________ asks or thinks, according to the power that worketh in _______________, unto Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. AMEN. APPENDIX E: SCRIPTURES REFERENCED Genesis 1:26,28 (KJV) And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. Genesis 1:26,28 (AMP) Then God said, “Let Us (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) make man in Our image, according to Our likeness [not physical, but a spiritual personality and moral likeness]; and let them have complete authority over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the cattle, and over the entire earth, and over everything that creeps and crawls on the earth.” And God blessed them [granting them certain authority] and said to them, “Be fruitful, multiply, and fill the earth, and subjugate it [putting it under your power]; and rule over (dominate) the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, and every living thing that moves upon the earth.” Psalms 119:89 (KJV) For ever, O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven. Proverbs 4:20-23 (Various Translations) My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. Hosea 4:6 (KJV) My people are destroyed [remember John 10:10 “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy…”] for a lack of knowledge. Matthew 8:5-10 (KJV) And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him, And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented. And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him. The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed. For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it. When Jesus heard it, he marveled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel. Matthew 8:25-27 (KJV) And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish. And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm. But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him! Matthew 9:8 (KJV) But when the multitudes saw it, they marvelled, and glorified God, which had given such power unto men. Matthew 10:1 (KJV) And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease. Mathew 10:7-8 (KJV) And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give. Matthew 12:36-37 (KJV) But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned. Matthew 15:13 (KJV) But he answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up Matthew 15:22-28 (KJV) And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour. Matthew 16:19 (KJV) And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Mark 4:38-40 (KJV) And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith? Mark 11:13-14(KJV) And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet. And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it. Mark 11:19-23 (KJV) And when even was come, he went out of the city. And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots. And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away. And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Mark 11:23 (KJV) For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Mark 13:34 (KJV) For the Son of Man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch. Mark 16:15-20(KJV) And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. And they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen. Mark 16:18 (KJV) They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Luke 4:5-7 (KJV) And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it. If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine. Luke 4:38-39 (KJV) And he arose out of the synagogue, and entered into Simon's house. And Simon's wife's mother was taken with a great fever; and they besought him for her. And he stood over her, and rebuked the fever; and it left her: and immediately she arose and ministered unto them. Luke 8:24-25 (KJV) And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm. And he said unto them, Where is your faith? And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him. Luke 9:1 (KJV) Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases. Luke 10:17-20 (KJV) And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name. And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven. Luke 22:25(KJV) And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors. John 6:63(KJV) It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. John 10:10(KJV) The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. John 11:3-4 (KJV) Therefore his sisters sent unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick.
