THE ANOINTING: Burden Removing Yoke Destroying Power of God Written by Emmett Anderson The Anointing: Burden Removing Yoke Destroying Power of God By Emmett Anderson Write to: Visit Online At: Emmett Anderson Ministries www.eandersonmin.org P.O. Box 26 eandersonmin@hotmail.com Crystal River, FL 34423 Introduction The anointing is the same in the Old Testament as it is in the New Testament. Hebrews 13:8 “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever.” The biggest difference is the source of the anointing. In the Old Testament, God used prophets and priests to anoint people (the anointing is on them); in the New Testament, God anoints you when you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior (the anointing is in you). Jesus, the high priest, is in you all the time. Thus, when Jesus is in you (born-again), you always carry the anointing. I John 2:27 “But the anointing which ye have received of Him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in Him.” In order to use the anointing you have to follow the laws and rules that make the anointing’s power destroy yokes that have come against you. Compare the anointing to the electricity in your home. The electricity is available all throughout your home, but if you never flip the switch your home will be dark. Once you make the connection between the switch and the lights, you know how to light up your home. There are laws and rules which dictate how electricity flows and behaves. This book will teach you what the church has not taught you about the anointing and how you can walk in health. I recommend all Christians begin studying The Epistles until they have a good understanding of the New Covenant (which was brought on by the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ). Studying in the New Covenant will teach you how to believe by faith. The Old Testament was meant to teach people that nothing could be achieved on their own self-effort. Renew your mind with the New Covenant and learn how to make your faith effectual and then you will see the Old Testament through New Covenant eyes. Philemon 1:6 “That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.” Faith becomes effectual when you start saying what The Word says about you. Mark 11:23 “For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.” Mark 11:23 says to believe in your heart (spirit), speak with your mouth to your mountains (problems) and believe it. Do not let your natural head knowledge get you into reasoning or trying to figure it out, just believe. Studying & Determination Hebrews 10:14 “For by one offering he hath perfected, forever, them that are sanctified.” Wisdom, knowledge, and understanding of The Word are the keys to faith. When you accept Jesus as your Lord your spirit is made perfect, as described in Hebrews 10:14. Your mind must be renewed by the Word of God. It is the renewing of your mind with The Word of God that gives us the ability to receive all God’s promises by faith and ward off darkness. God gave us His faith, and it cannot fail, but you must believe and use it. If you want to stay well, healthy, and wealthy, study the epistles (Paul’s letters to the churches). Do not study in the Old Testament until you understand the epistles. Once you understand how faith and the anointing work, you will read the Old Testament with a renewed mind and be able to receive from it properly. Focus on the anointing: study scriptures on the anointing until they become more real for you than things in the natural. The Armour of God Ephesians 6:10-12 “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” This does not entail physically arming yourself. Do not believe that you do not have on the armor. Once Jesus is in you – darkness cannot enter your spirit. Do not be deceived by the darkness in your flesh. What this scripture is to mean is: Be strong in The Lord Renew your mind to God’s Word by reading and speaking and in the power of His might accepting His gifts, such as the anointing, through faith Put on the whole armor of God be born-again that you may withstand the wiles of the devil Overcome darkness, sickness, disease, guilt, and condemnation, power of suggestion For we wrestle not against flesh and blood anything physical or natural but against principalities, against powers,[etc] instead, we wrestle against wrong thoughts and powers of suggestion from darkness. Determination I Samuel 16:12 “And he sent, and brought him in. Now he was ruddy, and withal of a beautiful countenance, and goodly to look to. And the Lord said, Arise, anoint him: for this is he.” David was anointed by Samuel (a prophet) on the authority of God. David was a keeper of the sheep - just a young man. After he was anointed, David killed bears and lions that came after the sheep. Notice that is was not until after his anointing that he killed bears and lions. Then David killed Goliath and set Israel free. If you notice, David always talked with confidence and determination. When I was younger, my teacher made me repeat, “Two and two is four.” Eventually, after enough repetition, I did it enough that if you try to prove otherwise, I would not believe it. I know in my heart that two and two is four. Studying and repetition help to secure things in your heart and make them real for you. Isaiah 10:27 “And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.” Isaiah 10:27 described the yoke destroying power of the anointing. The Word “shall” is mentioned 3 times. Let me repeat that, the word “shall” is repeated 3 times in a single verse. One definition of “shall” is to speak with determination or to indicate a future time. How you express thoughts and feelings of the future is how you will believe. Express God’s Word as fact, it shall come to pass. If you want to be free of disease, sickness, lack, and bondage: remember that your confidence, determination about The Word, and the way you speak go a long way. Jesus & The Anointing Matthew 1:1 “The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.” Acts 8:37 “And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.” Philippians 2:11 “And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” I Timothy 1:15 “This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.” II John 1:7 “For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.” Throughout the Bible, including the following verses, Jesus was called Jesus Christ; the word Christ means “anointed one.” Jesus studied in the temple until he was about 30 years old. Jesus never performed a miracle until after he was anointed by God. Acts 10:38 “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.” Here, in Acts 10:38, Jesus is anointed and heals those oppressed by the devil. Luke 4:18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,” In Luke 4:18, Jesus said he was anointed to preach, heal the sick, and set the captives free. John 14:12 “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.” Jesus said in John 14:12, not only will you do the same works as Jesus, but you shall do greater works than him. What do you think would happen if you study and speak what The Word says about you? The anointed one, Jesus Christ, is in you. You are a son or daughter of God. You can get results just the same as Jesus did, but you cannot listen to your head; you must listen to your spirit and follow the anointing (the anointing teaches you 1 John 2:27). Jesus learned by: studying The Word, wisdom from The Spirit, and learning from The Anointing. I John 2:27 “But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.” Could you stay well, healthy, and wealthy if the same anointing was in you? Well, it is. II Corinthians 1:20-22 “For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us. Now he which establisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God; Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.” In II Corinthians 1:20-22, verse 20 affirms that God is making promises. In verse 21, God said you were established in Christ (accepting Jesus as Lord), and that God anointed us. Then, in verse 22, God said he sealed us with the spirit. Wherever it says “us,” put your own name. How is the anointing God anointed Jesus with different from the anointing God anointed us with? It is not. Christ is the same today, yesterday, and forever. Believe it. Same God, same anointing. It is in you. If you are having trouble understanding, do not try to reason or figure any of this out just yet, let the anointing teach you. Believe The Word. Defining the Anointing The anointing is power. Not just any power; the anointing is God’s power, and it is in you. You must activate that power. First, you believe in your heart (spirit) and not in your head. Then, speak what you believe from your heart. Then, you act as if it is so (because it is). You receive on the inside, and then it shows up on the outside. Isaiah 10:27 “And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.” Disease, sickness, lack, and bondage all come from darkness, and the anointing shall, and will, destroy all darkness. I have seen so many healings and almost every healing involved the anointing. Analogy To illustrate how the anointing works, God showed me that I need to compare the anointing to the lights in your home. Compare the power company to God; electricity is the anointing; the power lines from the power company to you is the spirit realm; the light switch is your thinking; the lights are the natural realm. God is the perfect power company. He is always putting out power (the anointing). You are connected to Him spiritually, just like your house is connected to the power company by power lines. The anointing flows from God into the spiritual realm and, when your mind is right, it manifests itself in the physical realm by destroying all elements of darkness. Ephesians 1:3 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:” In your mind is a switch. When you flip the switch, the power is able to cross the switch and flow into the natural realm. You cannot see the electricity, but you know it is there. You cannot see the anointing, but it is there. You believe, by faith, things you cannot see (like electricity or air) all the time. The switch is the key to allowing all of the spiritual blessings (Ephesians 1:3) given to you by God to manifest into your natural existence. I am not sure about you, but when I want the lights on, I do not get on my knees and call out the power company to turn the lights on. If I did, the power company would tell me the problem is not on their end. It seems as though Christians are always on their knees asking for God to do something, and God responds that He has already done it – the problem is not on His end, He is waiting for you to flip the switch. Eventually, I would figure out that I needed to flip the switch in order to receive the power. The power company already supplied the electricity; the lights are working just fine. The problem is the switch was closed off and would not let the power fill the lights. You learned a long time ago that if you want the lights on, you flip the switch. The anointing is the same way. God already anointed you, your body is fine and in working order, but your mind is the switch. Learn God’s Word and what God says about you in order to flip that switch and allow the anointing to pass through the switch and give healing, wisdom, and love. In fact, electricity has always been available to people on Earth. Man only recently learned how to use it. Similar to the anointing, which has been available but is seldom used due to lack of knowledge. Wisdom, knowledge, and understanding in the spirit realm will set you free in every area of your life. The anointing is in you. Just like the power is already at your house. The difference between God and the power company is that God never fails and never has problems. What He does is perfect. The biggest hindrance to people looking for a miracle or healing is that when they read or hear things about healing or the anointing, they begin to try to figure out how it works in the natural realm. God does not live in the natural realm. Do not say, “Oh, this does not make sense to me.” Accept it as fact because it comes from The Word of God. The world tells you that there is no proof of God, or that the Gospel does not make sense. Christians have no problem believing in God or The Gospel, but for some reason Christians cannot accept that the physical realm is connected to the spiritual realm (God’s realm). Follow God’s Word and cause things (healing) from God’s realm to manifest itself in the natural. Matthew 18:3 “And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.” Become like a child. Children do not have the ability to reason out or think. They have no head knowledge. This is why Jesus said to be like them. They believe what they are told and do not feel the need to understand why. When you were a child, turning the lights on did not have to make sense, you were told that is how it works and accepted it, you tried it, and it worked. As you became older you may have been taught how electricity works. Now you understand it to some degree, and may always learn more things about electricity. You are learning how the spirit realm works. Now you understand it to some degree and you will always learn more things about the spirit realm. Using God’s Promises & the Anointing Believing, speaking, and acting releases your faith that God has given you; faith activates the anointing. Ephesians 2:8 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:” Romans 12:3 “For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.” II Corinthians 4:13 “We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;” II Peter 1:1 “Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:” Understand that you have the same spirit of faith as God, given to you from God and of God which is precious and perfect. This faith has already saved you from damnation thanks to God’s grace. God, by faith, spoke the entire universe into existence. He spoke and believed in faith, activating the anointing. Jesus had to believe, speak, and act (in faith) in his ministry on Earth to perform miracles. Jesus never waivered when speaking life over anyone. He spoke with confidence and determination in faith, activating the anointing. John 5:8 (NIV) “Then Jesus said to him, ‘Get up! Pick up your mat and walk.’” In John 5:8 Jesus did not beg or say, “Try to get up and walk, maybe you will succeed.” He told the man to get up and walk. He spoke with confidence. You are a child of God and you need to believe, speak, and act like your brother Jesus to get the same results. Confessing Hebrews 3:1 (NKJV) “Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Christ Jesus,” Hebrews 4:14 (NKJV) “Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.” Hebrews 10:23 (NKJV) “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.” Read in Hebrews and you will find a wealth of information written about confessing – but nothing about confessing your sins. Confess God’s promises (what the Word says about you) and He is faithful; Jesus is the High Priest of your confession; do not waiver in your confession, but remain steadfast. Romans 10:9 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” In reading Romans 10:9, you will learn that your salvation is brought on by your confession and believing in your heart. Always confess God’s promises over your life. Renew your mind and keep confessing. Stirring II Timothy 1:6 “Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.” Stir up the gift (the anointing) that is in you. II Timothy 1:6 says that one way is by laying on of hands. When preachers laid hands on you in healing lines, they stirred up the anointing that is in them by believing, speaking, and acting. When they stir up the anointing in them, it stirs up the anointing in you. The result is people receive their healing. Keep the healing by keeping the anointing stirred up. II Peter 1:12-13 “Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and be established in the present truth. Yea, I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance;” God says in II Peter 1:12-13 that even though you may know the truth, you must constantly bring this truth to your remembrance and stir yourself up. The truth is that you are anointed with the burden removing, yoke destroying power of God. Believe it. God showed me one time that if a bucket of water sits out in the yard for a few months and you drink it, it may hurt you. If you take the bucket, place it under a faucet, and turn the water on, it will start stirring with life and become drinkable. It is the same in the spirit realm, and your tongue is the stirring instrument. So what do you believe, speak, think, say, and act? Testimony Keep the anointing stirred up by believing and speaking. Act like it is true. I ministered to a lady that had cancer; she had used the doctor for a year with no results. I told her all the same things I am writing in this book. She believed and started speaking and acting. She would get up every morning and start walking around her property speaking very loud. She spoke with confidence and determination. She would say: The burden removing, yoke destroying power of God is in me. The anointing is destroying cancer cells. Cancer cannot live in my body. I have been redeemed from the curse of the law, therefore I am free from all disease. The anointing is burden-removing, yoke destroying power of God and it is alive in me. No cancer, no disease, no virus, no germ can attach itself to my body. The anointing will destroy it. Thank you, Jesus, I am free, free, free from all darkness, disease, and all burdens in Jesus’ name. Hallelujah, hallelujah, glory, glory, glory be to God. I Peter 2:24 “‘He himself bore our sins’ in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; ‘by his wounds you have been healed.’” She would walk and speak every morning for about an hour; she would speak all during the day when she thought about what was coming against her body. She thanked and praised Jesus for taking those stripes for her healing. (I Peter 2:24) This was how she chose to activate her faith. This is how she stirred up her faith. She was speaking The Word over herself and walking. Three months later the doctor ordered a PT scan to get an update on the cancer. The results were that she was cancer-free. There is no right or wrong way to speak, as long as you speak The Word. Just start confessing what The Word says and what is says about you. Overriding your senses I Peter 2:24 says by his stripes you were healed. If you were healed then, then you are healed now. Jesus obtained salvation and healing for everyone two thousand years ago. It is easy for you to receive salvation because your senses (seeing, hearing, feeling, touching, and tasting) are not involved. You just believe. There is no reasoning or figuring out how to be saved. You just believe. However, when it comes to healing, all of your senses, reasoning, and figuring things out in your head are telling you, “I hurt. I am not healed. Help me. Do something.” All of these fleshly feelings will nag you and keep you from receiving by faith (faith does not involve the senses). The way you believe and speak can either be God’s blessings, or it can be like a stone around your neck, stopping you from being able to receive from the spiritual into your flesh. Talk about the anointing and speak The Word over your life. Your mind needs to be renewed with The Word of God and learn you are a spirit being too, not just a natural being. When the spirit becomes more real to you than the flesh, it will be easy to receive from the spirit. Your mind will be changed; you will have the mind of Christ. Be renewed in the spirit of your mind, do not conform to the world, learn the will of God, and have the mind of Christ. I Corinthians 2:16 “For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? but we have the mind of Christ.” Romans 12:2 “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Ephesians 4:23 “And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;” Speaking And Believing Philemon 1:6 “That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.” When you study and speak (communicate) what Philemon 1:6 says over your life, you release faith, and you will come to a place of peace and rest. John 6:63 “It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.” When you lay hands on the Word of God (your bible) and your body, it is like touching Jesus. He is the Word of God and there is life in The Word (John 6:63 & Luke 4:4). Luke 4:4 “And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.” Look in The Word and you will find the truth to be in: listening to your spirit, believing, speaking, and acting. Agreement Matthew 18:19-20 “Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” When you agree with someone, you believe it is done. No need to keep praying and asking. That would be doubt. When you read this book and believe the anointing is destroying whatever has come against your body, I am in agreement with you. Jesus, The Anointed One, is your healer. There is no distance in the spirit realm. When you believe in your heart (spirit) that you are healed, do not believe in circumstances that come against your body. Do not start reasoning with your head. Just believe. Example: When you cut yourself, it does not heal immediately, you just believe, knowing it will heal. You are patient, you keep it clean, you apply antibacterial medicine, and you believe it will heal. Dangers of Doubt or impatience I witnessed a person who had been healed of cancer and began to have a pain. This person’s body parts had been messed up from the cancer and treatments. They should never have listened to those messed up body parts because they started to doubt that they had ever been healed at all. It takes time for your body parts to repair themselves and make you whole again. Apply God’s Word as if it were antibacterial medicine (speaking The Word of God) for your body parts – even if you can only apply the name of Jesus, keep applying. Speaking God over you and rebuking the world’s words I John 4:4 “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” If God is in you, how can darkness (sickness and disease) also live in you? I raise this question to you in order to make you question your beliefs. Most people are sick because they believe what they see, feel, hear, and think. Anytime a thought comes against you or someone says something to you about an act of darkness (sickness or disease), ask yourself how it is possible for these things to coexist if God is in you. Read what The Word says about you and hear yourself speaking what The Word says about you. This is God’s medicine. You allow people to speak what The World says about you and do not think twice about it. The world will tell you every negative thing if you let them, it is up to you to rebuke their words in your mind and speak the goodness of God over yourself. You listen to spoken words. Keep your mind, will, and emotions set on Jesus Christ, and all circumstances will change. Study the Sick Lady Mark 5:25-34 “And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse, When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague. And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes? And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me? And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing. But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth. And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.” The lady had been sick for twelve years when she heard Jesus had healing power. Look at what she had done to receive her healing by faith. 1. She heard. 2. She touched. 3. She said. 4. She felt 5. She changed her thinking and believing. 6. Her faith is working and she is in peace. Acts 19:12 “So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them.” Mark 5:25-34 & Acts 19:12 say that the anointing will get in cloth by an act of faith. I encourage you to find a preacher who is teaching healing, and give him a handkerchief. Ask him to keep the handkerchief on him while he preaches to allow it to become saturated with the anointing. Take the handkerchief and keep it on your body, then believe and receive. I dare you to be like the lady in Mark 5:25-34. Change your thinking and believing and put your faith into action just like she did. What have you got to lose? Your disease? Be healed in Jesus’ name. Conclusion Believing, speaking, acting, and seeing yourself as whole (perfect) is using your faith God gave you to unlock all spiritual blessings, and you will receive. God’s righteousness, mercy, and grace make everything Jesus did available to us. Faith receives what Jesus made available for us. You receive in your spirit, not your head. Clear your head of all worldly thoughts. Start confessing, “God loves me, God wants me healed, Jesus died so I could be healthy, and therefore I receive my healing. I am a real good receiver. I receive my healing. I am healed in Jesus’ name.” Then thank Jesus for your healing. Get happy, excited, and be joyful. Satan can only steal from you when you are in your own self-effort, stressed, worried, afraid, feeling rejected, feeling condemned, feeling unworthy, wrong thinking, and religiously brainwashed. Love, joy, peace, grace, and health to all of God’s righteous children. I have a list of CD’s and articles that may help you receive your healing on my website at www.eandersonmin.org.
